The Graduate School is proud to host public lectures for the community. Below you will find responses to general questions and concerns related to registering for and attending a Graduate School public lecture. Be sure to check event listings and your registration confirmation for specific information and details.
How many tickets may I purchase per event?
Individuals may purchase up to 4 tickets per lecture. If you are an educator who wants to reserve seats for a class, please email us at lectures@uw.edu.
Did my registration go through? Where’s my receipt?
After you place an order, an email confirmation will be sent to the address provided during purchase. If you don’t see this confirmation in your inbox be sure to check your junk or spam email folders. If you still don’t see it, email us at lectures@uw.edu and we’ll get it sorted out!
How do I get my tickets?
All ticketing information will be included in your initial confirmation email. We will also send you a registration reminder email the day before the event that includes any information you will need to know.
If I can’t attend, how do I cancel my reservation?
If you need to cancel or change your reservation, please follow the directions in your confirmation email. Still having trouble? Email us at lectures@uw.edu with your reservation information and we will cancel it for you.
The event is sold out online—is there a waitlist I can join?
If an event is sold out, as a courtesy, the Graduate School will offer standby seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Any reserved seats not taken by 15 minutes before the start of the lecture will be offered to our guests in the standby line. Please note: standby entrance is based on seat availability and there is no guarantee of admittance to the public lecture.
Where do I check in?
Please bring a copy of your confirmation email to the event. Registered but don’t have your confirmation email on hand? Please visit the check in table outside the lecture hall to gain access to the lecture.
How do I get to the lecture? Where do I park?
Our lectures at Town Hall Seattle, which is centrally located in the First Hill neighborhood at 1119 8th Ave (at the corner of 8th Avenue and Seneca Street) is served by frequent bus routes, near access to light rail stations, and close to a number of parking options – including discounted parking at LAZ Parking (6th Ave Hilton Garage). Is the event being recorded?
Graduate School Public Lectures are audio recorded and are made available for in-library use only in the UW Media Arcade. Please note that processing time for audio recordings may take up to 6 months.
