The University of Washington Graduate School is proud to introduce In Community, its first-ever magazine. In it is a collection of stories that showcase the people, ideas and impact that define graduate education at UW.
This inaugural issue brings together stories from across our tri-campus community, highlighting the work of graduate students and alumni who are advancing discovery, strengthening communities and addressing complex challenges. From research that expands what we know about neuroscience to work that advances tech for all voices, In Community reflects the breadth and purpose of graduate education at a leading public research university.
At its core, the magazine is grounded in a simple idea: that graduate education is not an isolated endeavor, but a shared investment in the public good. The stories in this issue illustrate how support for graduate students fuels innovation and enables emerging scholars to pursue work with real-world impact.
We are grateful to the many students, faculty, staff and partners who contributed to this first issue, and we look forward to continuing to share these stories in the years ahead.
