GEMS Training for New Graduate Advisors
Welcome to the UW graduate advising community! The Graduate School is here to support you as you support your students.
Graduate Enrollment Management Services (GEMS) is an administrative unit within the Graduate School, which manages graduate admission, student academic progress, and graduation at the UW. GEMS aims to provide high quality, accessible support and training to one of our most valuable partners: graduate program advisors (GPAs).
Training Requests
In addition to quarterly training sessions, GEMS offers one-on-one MyGrad Program (MGP) training for new GPAs.
Please take a moment to complete the below training request form. Your responses will help us identify your roles and responsibilities within your department and how to best utilize our time with you. After you submit the request form, we will review your submission and assign a GEMS advisor to follow up with you within 2-3 business days to schedule a 90-minute training session.
Scheduling priority will be given to GPAs who have served in their role for approximately one year or less. And while there are many layers of responsibilities assigned to GPAs, one-one-one training sessions will be focused on tasks in MyGrad Program. We look forward to connecting with you!
