Autumn Quarter 2016

Special Webinar: New Enrollment Confirmation System (ECS)

Date: Sept. 14, 2016

Description:
Please join the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) and Graduate Enrollment Management Services (GEMS) as we walk you through OUR’s new online Enrollment Confirmation System (ECS).

GEMS will demonstrate how graduate students move from the Graduate Application for Admission to the ECS. Then OUR will walk you through the payment screens. This short demo will end with resources available online to your students and what your students will see on their Application Status Page when they have paid the Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD).

This demo will cover the following:

  • Changes to the Application Status Page immediately upon an offer of admission
  • Changes to the Application Status Page when an offer of admission is on the Student Database (SDB)
  • Requirement to establish a UW NetID to access the ECS
  • Payment screens in the ECS
  • ECS Help for Students
  • Changes to the Application Status Page after the ECD is paid

Target Audience: GPAs and GPCs (staff and faculty advisors) of graduate programs

MGP Basic Training (Student Services)

Date: Oct. 6, 2016
Time: 10:30 a.m.–noon
Location: Webinar

Description:
An introductory training session of MyGrad Program (MGP) Department view and its functions. This training will focus primarily on basic Master’s and Doctoral student functions of MGP; it will not cover admissions functions, including the admissions profile and admissions review (offered as separate trainings).

This training will provide department users of MGP a functional understanding of the following:

  • Navigating within MGP
  • Utilizing the Student List
  • Managing your advisor tasks
  • Troubleshooting in MGP
  • Creating masters/doctoral committees
  • Recommending on-leave status

Target Audience: New staff and faculty users of MyGrad Program (MGP)
Prerequisites: Participants are expected to already have access to MGP

Online Admissions Review Training

Date: Oct. 17, 2016
Time: 10–11:30 a.m.
Location: Webinar

Description:
The Online Admissions Review system within MGP was developed in response to a request from GPAs and GPCs to help manage a paperless application review process. Your application is entirely paperless. Why not go paperless with your review? Understanding and implementing the online review tool can result in a streamlined, accessible and efficient graduate admissions review for your department.

This training will cover an overview of this feature, including the following topics:

  • Managing score sheets
  • Assigning reviewers
  • Reviewing applications
  • Using the ranked list

Target Audience: GPAs, GPCs, and other faculty or staff involved in the graduate admissions review process
Prerequisites: Familiarity with MyGrad Program (MGP)

MGP Basic Training (Admissions)

Description:
This training session will cover aspects of admissions not covered in the Unit Profile or Online Admissions Review training. How can you increase efficiency and best serve your applicants during their application process?

This training will provide department users of MGP a functional understanding of the following:

  • Best Practices in Admissions
  • Track Application Materials feature in MGP
  • Revising and updating application materials
  • Conveying admission decisions and utilizing the Decision List
  • Application Troubleshooting

Target Audience: New staff and faculty users of MyGrad Program (MGP)
Prerequisites: Participants are expected to already have access to MGP

How to Design Your Application for Admission
