Why did you decide to attend graduate school?
Feminist theory is very important to me, and I realized that I wanted sharpen my skills in order to continue to engage with, and contribute to, feminist and historical discourses.
What are your career plans post-graduate school?
I am hopeful to one day become a professor, ideally tenure track! It is most important to me that I find myself in a setting where I am able to continue to learn, teach and engage in mentorship.
What advice would you give to undergraduates thinking about graduate school?
Don’t be embarrassed to ask for help, or clarification regarding what is expected of you in the application process. Connect with a professor from your undergraduate career who knows your work and ask for help. Applying to graduate school can feel overwhelming, but a mentor to guide you, coupled with persistent effort on your part, will help you to feel assured when you submit your applications.
