Why did you decide to attend graduate school?

I fell in love with philosophy early in my undergraduate career. However, as a first-generation college student, I didn’t even know graduate school existed at the time. A fantastic undergraduate mentor introduced me to the idea of a Ph.D. and the Ronald McNair Scholars program helped me get to graduate school.

What are your career plans post-graduate school?

I intend to pursue a teaching and research position at the university level. I hope to continue research and teaching on important issues in ethics, moral psychology and feminist philosophy.

What advice would you give to undergraduates thinking about graduate school?

Find a mentor, or better, multiple mentors. A good mentor can introduce you to new opportunities and help you deal with inevitable challenges. A good mentor is invaluable.
