Why did you decide to attend the University of Washington for your graduate studies?

I was inspired by the University of Washington’s commitment to equity and diversity and was thoroughly impressed with the College of Education faculty. I also really appreciate the opportunity to select courses and play a role in shaping my doctoral program experience

Where do you hope your graduate education will take you?

The possibilities are endless! I hope that I will continue to contribute scholarly research and publications on the topic of education equity. I am also interested in influence state and local policy and practice.

What advice would you give to undergraduates thinking about graduate school?

It may sound cheesy but trust your instincts. There are many decision points you will encounter and relationships you will develop during your experience, let your instincts guide you towards what is most meaningful and worthwhile for you. It also teaches you to trust yourself, which is essential for success.
